Located downtown, Chattanooga Zoo is one of the most popular – and affordable – attractions in Chattanooga Tennessee. With a focus on education, conservation, and animal preservation, the exhibits here were specifically designed to bring you up close and personal with some of the most magnificent creatures.
I’ll go ahead and say that the Chattanooga Zoo is not the largest zoo you could visit, but don’t judge this quaint little animal kingdom too quickly.
You may not see the larger, mainstream zoo animals like elephants and rhinoceros or lions and tigers and bears, but there is plenty to see and more than enough fun to be had by kids of all ages!
I promise, you won’t even miss the long lines, the big crowds or the bigger ticket prices here. Established in 1937, Chattanooga Zoo still boasts some of the lowest ticket prices in the United States.
Download a map before you go and wander through exhibits like the Gombe Forest and see the majestic Jaguar in the Corcovado Jungle. Don’t miss the adorable Red Panda exhibit at the Himalayan Passage. Visit the petting zoo at Warner Park Ranch
The sloth was a big hit for us. I’m not sure they still have the sloth exhibit anymore but I ‘m excited to say they have added Giraffes since we visited.
Don’t miss the opportunity to stop by the Nature Play playground and make a little music. This was one of my favorites!
Hit one of the refreshment stands for a cold drink while you’re there and don’t forget to stop by the gift shop for a cool souvenir! This sweet girl loved rescuing this lollipop and little sloth.
